L'erta di Vigliano 2006 IGt Toscana
Da Scandicci la scommessa di San Martino alla Palma passa attraverso un cabernet che viene mirabilmente alleggerito e migliorato da un sorprendente sangiovese. Naso lieve elegante dove amarena e durone del sangiovese si sposano con peperone, mirtillo e pepe del Cabernet a dare un vino elegante e finissimo. Bocca da tavola, immediata e sfaccettata quanto basta a richiedere un altro sorso. Grande la sapidità e il dosaggio degli elementi in annata notevole lo rendono uno dei migliori Erta di sempre e una compagno fedele di tante cene sontuose cui regala speziature e freschezza come pochissimi altri blend cabernet-sangiovese. Una grande idea realizzata benissimo.

www.BKWineTours.com *Come on a wine & food tour with us!* --- An interview with the winemaker at the Stellenbosch winery Stellekaya, Ntsiki Biyela. She is one of the very few black women wine makers in South Africa, perhaps even the first. The winery is close to the town Stellenbosch which is also the name of the wine region. The vineyards are quite a bit a way from winery. The name Stellekaya means home of the stars. Most of the wines are named after astrological star constellations (Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio, Orion etc). Stellekaya only make red wines blends and varietals. They have cabernet sauvignon (called Scorpio), a merlot and a shiraz. They make several blends: sangiovese, merlot and cs (called Hercules), Bordeaux style (cs, merlot, cab franc), Cape blend with merlot, cs and pinotage. Wines often highly rated by John Platter in the Platter guide. The wines are generally very elegant with a lot of fruit. Ntsiki Biyela, the wine maker wants to have the fruit prominent with a lot of freshness. Ntsiki has been winemaker since 2004. Over the years her wine making has changed, improved, learning from experience. There are always changes depending on the vintage but the style with fruit and elegance remains the same. 2006er Loacker Ballando IGT
In der Maremma südlich von Grosseto hat der renommierte Südtiroler WinzerRainer Loacker ein Weingut gekauft. Dort entsteht unter anderem der Ballando (zu deutsch=tanzend), hierbei handelt es sich um eine im Stahltank ausgebaute Cuvéeaus Cabernet Franc, Merlotund Sangiovese. Die handgelesenen Trauben für diesen Wein wurden biodynamisch angebaut und stammen von ca. 6 Jahre alten Reben die auf Sand-Lehmböden stehen.

Parlare di terroir nel Chianti Classico è una provocazione ma anche una conseguenza di una zona che si è scoperta capace e vogliosa di grandi vini solo dopo che l'idea del Cabernet ha reso evidenti a tutti la grandezza dei suoi terreni, qualcosa che la coltivazione classica e senza amore per il sangiovese rendeva semplice e facile ma quasi mai eccellente. A Greve in Chianti domina il galestro e affiorano anche importanti zone di arenarie con sabbie silicee dalla grande capacità di gestire la luce. Luce che nei vigneti di Querciabella arriva a sostare quasi 2-3 ore in più che in molte altre della DOCG che percorre la zona. Vigneti di Cabernet e di Sangiovese di età che li rende interessanti, una luce calda, intensa di esposizioni felici e vento che soffia leggerezza. Terroir che risponde con i vini, dando equilibrio e grandi capacità di venire a maturazione in maniera ottimale al Cabernet che al Sangiovese, donando un naso appena pirazinico ma che è soprattutto un elegante miscela di frutta di bosco (ribes bianco e rosso, mora, ciliegia) e note mediterranee come l'elicrisio, il peperone, l'oliva e una nota particolare come di ferro. Sangiovese regala tabacco liquirizia a un fresco durone. Bocca che inizia e quasi non ce ne se accorge tanto veloce è il vino a percorrerci e lasciare la bocca stuzzicata e impressionata dalla nota fruttata e minerale che il vin o lascia dietro di sé. La clientela è soprattutto italiana, (Roma e centro nord Italia), ma proviene anche dal Nord Europa, dirottata da Tour operator e sito internet. Strano blend di 20% Sangiovese e poi 40% e 40% di Cabernet e Merlto, il classico "traditore della patria".. al naso in effetti è il tipico supertuscana merlottizzato piacevole, carino, dal colore e naso pieno, dolce e speziato quanto basta. In bocca invece anche solo il 20% di sangiovese unito al terroir della Rufina ne fanno un vino da bere e ribere senza problemi con una bella acidità e una persistenza davvero appagante.
